Reservations, Desposits, & Cancellations

The Desoto County Parks and Recreation Department offers to the community the opportunity to use park and recreational facilities for private functions, athletic events and family gatherings.  Groups, organizations, or families wanting to reserve park facilities must submit a Desoto County Parks and Recreation Department Use Permit.  Park facilities may not be reserved more than six months in advance.  The Desoto County Parks and Recreation Department will hold reservation inquiries for 48 hours, at which time if payments have not been made, the requested park facility will be available for other reservations.  Permit applications can be picked up at the Desoto County Parks and Recreation Department office.  Park facilities will be reserved on a first come first serve basis.

Deposits

The user shall be responsible for all costs associated with damages to the park facilities, equipment, furnishings and grounds.  A clean up/damage deposit, shall be rquired from the individual, group, and/or organization, applying to reserve or use a facility prior to such use.

 Deposits will be refunded upon verification by the Desoto County Parks and Recreation personnel that the facility has been returned to a condition similar to or better than that prior to use.  If the facility is not returned to its condition prior to use, the deposit will be applied to the actual cost of necesary repairs, and/or clean-up, and the user shall be responsible for any costs above the amount of the deposit.  A violation of any rule or regulation, or a material misrepresentation by an individual, group, and/or organization will result in forfeiture of the deposit.  Cancellation prior to its start will result in full refund of deposit. 

Cancellations 

A fee will be charged as a result of a cancellation of an event, regardless of the time of cancellation.  A cancellation fee of $12.50 will be charged for all pavilions and shelters with a minimum of 72 hours notice.  Cancellations with less than the 72 hours notice will forfeit the user fee.
