INDIGENT MEDICATION

INDIGENT EMERGENCY MEDICATION

This is a small fund that can assist indigent individuals with medication necessary for the immediate health of the client. The program is not intended to provide either long or short term medication program for a client.

HOW TO APPLY: The persons requiring immidiate medication should bring doctors prescription and a print out of the prescription cost from Winn-Dixie Pharmacy to the Community Service Offiice and provide information necessary to complete an intake application. Qualification is generally based on income, need, and ability to obtain the medication.

All known sources, such as Care-A-Van, FEMA, Catholic Social Services, Desoto Health Resources and physicians generic medication sample program will be explored to obtain assistance first. If none available, client will be instructed to proceed to the contracted drug store for prescription fill.
